We’d like to take a moment to share an important update about our community centers. Previously known as Senior/Community Centers, these spaces have always been open and accessible to individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and interests. To reflect their inclusive nature, they are now simply called Community Centers.

The Park District proudly owns and maintains two key locations: the Robert Hootman Community Center in Running Springs and the Twin Peaks Community Center, located near the Twin Peaks Rotary Centennial Park and Harich Ball Field.

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve these facilities, we have made several exciting upgrades. These enhancements include the addition of a new heating and cooling system, automatic generators, and new windows for better insulation. Additionally, we’ve updated the interiors with fresh paint and new flooring, ensuring the spaces are both comfortable and inviting.

We have reached out to the San Bernardino County to inquire about designating these centers as official cooling and heating facilities for emergency use and we are eagerly waiting for a response.

Currently on the Community Center schedules you will find groups and programs such as Park District programs and recreational activities, local Girl Scout troops, the Mountain Communities Senior Group (Twin Peaks), the Golden Oaks Senior Group (Hootman Center), the morning and noon time Rotary Groups of Lake Arrowhead, Mountain Provisions Cooperative, Refuge Church, AYSO, the Running Springs Chamber of Commerce (Hootman Center) and other several reserved private party events. These community centers are for everyone, and we invite you to take full advantage of these vibrant, accessible spaces.

Our goal is to create welcoming, inclusive spaces where everyone, whether children, young adults, individuals, families, or seniors, can come together to learn, connect, and engage in a variety of enriching activities and programs.

Thank you for your continued support during this exciting transition. We look forward to seeing you at our Community Centers soon as we work together to build stronger, more connected communities!
