2026 RIMREC Youth Basketball

Hey Coach! We need you!

This program is based on the number of volunteer coaches we receive. Volunteer coaches and assistant coaches are vital to the program and help keep our program going. Therefore, if we do not receive enough volunteer coaches we cannot create teams which will leave some participants on a waiting list. Let’s make it possible for all children to participate. Your help is much appreciated. All coaches and assistant coaches must be Lived Scanned and might possibly be asked to fill out other required documentation.

If you would like to be a coach/assistant coach,  please fill out the form below.

We also need Team Parents, Time/Scorekeepers, or Referees. If interested please email  info@rim-rec.org

About RIMREC Youth Basketball Program and League

This league is designed to teach and enhance basketball skills in a recreational and fun atmosphere. Sportsmanship and learning are key components of this program.

Divisions and teams are based on the number of participants the Park District receives. You will be notified what team you are on by your volunteer coach.

In order to provide a successful program, we need your help. Volunteer coaches are vital to the program. Without volunteer coaches, teams cannot exist.  Therefore, if we do not receive enough volunteer coaches we cannot create teams, which will leave some participants on a waiting list.  Let’s make it possible for all children to participate. Your help is much appreciated. Please let us know if you would like to volunteer as a Coach, Assistant Coach, Team Parent, Time/Scorekeeper, or Referee.

Parent’s Code of Ethics—Sideline Demeanor

Your child is participating in a youth sports program under the Rim of the World Recreation and Park District. We are a community whose goals are to promote self-esteem of all players just for participating, regardless of individual athletic ability or the final score of any athletic contest. Your role as a spectator has significant impact upon the success of our program. Therefore, we need you to fully understand and completely accept the standards of behavior which are detailed below.

___ I pledge to demonstrate positive support and give respect to all players, coaches, officials, parents, fans, and Park District Staff at all games and practices.

___ I pledge to never make negative comments to anyone because I understand that negative comments are destructive and will only result in damaging a child’s motivation & ruin their athletic experience.

___ I pledge to encourage my child & all players by using only words of praise & to refrain from yelling out instructions as this will only confuse players as they look for direction from their coach.

___ I pledge to be a positive role model & set a good example of sportsmanship.

___ I will place the emotional & physical wellbeing of my child & all other children ahead of my personal desire to win.

___ I understand that children play sports to have fun, make friends, & learn new skills, Therefore, I will praise effort as well as execution to keep sports in the proper perspective.

___ I will always support the game officials, even if I do not agree with a call, because their presence is to make the game safe, fun & fair for the children that are playing.

___ I will remember that the game I am attending is for the players & not for me or any other spectator.

___ I will support a sports environment for my child that is free from drugs, tobacco, & alcohol & will refrain from their use at all Rim of the World Recreation and Park District games & events.

___ I understand that any & all of my actions are subject to review by the administrators of this sports league.

By participating in this program, you fully understand & completely accept the standard of behavior outlined above. My initials by each standard & signature below will serve as my public acknowledgment of my unconditional agreement with each standard contained in the Parent’s Code of Ethics. I realize that if any time my behavior becomes non-compliant with any of the standards contained in the Parent’s Code of Ethics, I may be asked to immediately terminate both my participation & my child’s participation in the youth sports program.
